The Banner
The red and gold banner at the left was designed by Newman Myrah, a Western artist who was with the 242nd at Camp White. The beaver head represents the state of Oregon where the 242nd was activated. The cannon represents the mission of the battalion as field artillery. "Serve the Pieces Faithfully" was the motto of the 242nd Field Artillery Battalion.
